Award: Flyball Dog Advanced
Shilo was small in stature but had the biggest personality I've ever seen in a dog, even for a Jack Russell Terrier. She was obsessive about tennis balls and lived every waking moment for flyball. At 10.5” tall she wasn’t the fastest dog in the club, but that didn’t stop her from believing that she could run as fast (or bark as loud!) as her larger team mates. In 2009 (Shilo’s first year of racing) we were fortunate enough to be offered a place with the Wimbledon Whizzers GBRunning Team at the European Flyball Championships in Putte, Belgium. It was only her 5th Competition, but she was a little star and GBRunning came 2nd in Division 3 - what an achievement! When not chasing balls down a flyball lane and scaring most of the collies at changeovers, she was equally at home playing fetch with her Frisbee or just charging around the fields wearing her backpack. A happy little soul, Shilo kept the household in check and never failed to bring a smile to the face of almost everyone she met. On many a dull day Shilo raised my spirit, and I'm so grateful she got to spend her short life with us - I just wish her stay could've been longer. Sleep tight Shilo Doglet xx
